I embrace two clinical philosophies in my practice
First, I practice cogniative behaivoral therapy, with a lower case C and upper case B. I believe the ultimate goal of thearpy is to facilitate meaningful and posivive behavioral changes. All relevant processes, such as learning emotional regulation skills or expanding cognitive processing flexibilities, are elements promoting behavioral progresses that define treatment success.
Second, I believe all individuals carry inner wisdoms that can guide the creation of meaning in their lives. At times, we may feel lost in a dark room not knowing what to do or expect. The role of a thearpist, in my view, is not to bring a source or light into the space, rather explore with the client and guide the locating of the switch, which turns on the lights that already exist.
With your permission, I am curious to understand your story, create opportunities for behavioral changes, and together, find the life wisdoms that are unique to you.
