About Me (个人简介)

I practice evidence-based psychotherapy, in particular cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), integrating skills from various schools of psychology (e.g., skills from dialectical behavior therapy). I also have extensive experience working with couples. In particular, I practice cognitive behavioral couple therapy (CBCT) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to promote relationship strength for couples whose relationships are under stress.

I grew up in Shanghai, China, and completed undergraduate at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (Go Blue!). I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and completed my predoctoral internship (2020-2021) at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. I proudly served as the front-line mental health provider in the face of COVID-19

我成长于中国上海。我大学就读密歇根安娜堡,博士毕业于北卡罗兰纳教堂山。我的临床实习(2020-2021)完成于纽约布朗克斯区(The Bronx) 的Montefiore医院。我很自豪我在COVID-19最严重的时候为美国最脆弱的社区的居民提供最高质量的心理健康服务。

Invited Talks and community services

Outside work, I connect with local and national organizations to deliver evidence-based psychosocial workshops, lectures, podcasts, etc., to promote mental health knowledge. I lead a support group for Chinese international students, providing a safe space to process challenging study abroad experiences. I also work with mental health institutions in China and disseminate evidence-based psychosocial interventions.

受邀讲座及社区服务

在工作之余,我和本地以及全国范围内的机构合作,为社区提供循证的心理科普讲座,以及心理教育博客的录制,等等。我创建了一个中国留学生心理互助小组,免费为中国留学生提供一个安全的相互支持的空间。我同时也和中国的医疗机构合作,为当地的社区以及医疗人员提供心理健康教育的服务。

自媒体/播客

从2021年起,我创立了“解析心理学”的心理知识科普自媒体频道。频道的目的是用浅显易懂的语言,用专业的视角为观众解析心理学相关理论与治疗方向;同时分享心理学相关的一些知识,比如美国心理学博士的申请步骤。

同时,与精神学与精神卫生博士,精神科医生,罗澜女士合作,共同创立了心理学习手册职场生存指南的播客。前者注重普及科学的心理学知识;后者注重帮助在职场中打拼的人们,学习可以保护自身心理健康的知识与方法。

  • Before we meet, I would like to speak with you during a 15-20 minute phone call to get to know you, gather preliminary information on your clinical needs, and answer questions you will have at the time. There is no charge for this phone consultation.

  • The goal of this 60-minute session is for me to get a deeper understanding of your concerns and goals for therapy. Based on your clinical presentations, a preliminary treatment plan will be discussed with you. I will also answer questions about treatment and help you understand what to expect going forward.

  • Therapy sessions are typically 30-45 minutes long (45-60 for couple therapy). I believe the goal of therapy is to reach a point where you are free from therapy. During the initial stage of therapy (first 5-10 sessions), I often take more of lead and set up the foundation for treatment success. Overtime, I would invite you to gradually become the "captain of the ship," where I take a step back and walk along side your journey. Eventually, we conclude the therapy work and you walk away with confidence to move life forward.

    心理治疗的时长一般是30-45分钟(夫妻治疗为45-60分钟)。我认为心理治疗的目的是让您有一天不再需要心理治疗的服务。在治疗开始阶段,我会帮助您了解治疗的理论以及搭建治疗的基础。随着时间的推移,我会帮助您慢慢地拿回生活的主动权,从治疗的引导者,变为陪伴您做出改变的人。当我们结束治疗时,您将学会如何自信地迈出未来的人生步伐。
